Sometimes it is difficult to really get an idea of how successful a game is in the grand scheme of things, but in the case of Mojang’s Minecraft, there are no doubts as to how huge it is. Every few months we see new milestones as to how well Minecraft is doing or we hear new stories about new applications for Minecraft, be it educational, recreational or just for building amazing structures. Minecraft is a game that seems to not be constricted by any sort of borders whatsoever. Kids and adults both love it and people of all makes and incomes find themselves completely lost in their randomly-generated worlds.
So it comes as no shock to learn that a publisher, Egmont, based out of Europe, will be publishing a few books based on Minecraft in the UK this coming September. The books are going to be aimed at children and will look to offer an in depth exploration of Minecraft’s core gameplay mechanics. The four books which are to be released are; The Beginner’s Handbook, The Combat Handbook, The Redstone Handbook and The Construction Handbook. These are just the tip of the iceberg for Egmont’s Minecraft line, with more to be released shortly.
