Here’s some disappointing news for Nintendo fans, as Fez creator Phil Fish has doubted the possibility of the puzzle platformer seeing a release on the Wii U.
On his Twitter feed, Fish said that “the only way a FEZ WII U port could happen is if nintendo paid for and handled the port themselves. which i highly doubt will ever happen.”
This comes shortly after Fish also said a 3DS version would be pointless, and has recently expressed his hate for the system and claiming that Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate would be better suited to the PlayStation Vita.
This is a huge shame, as not only does it now seem that Nintendo fans may never see an opportunity to play this masterpiece, Fez would have been a great fit on either 3DS or Wii U. With the emphasis real life note-taking, the 3DS’ bottom screen and the Wii U GamePad could have been very useful for players solving puzzles.
Fez is headed to Steam, Mac, and possibly PSN later this year.
