Borderlands 2 will be getting a new DLC next week: the Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade pack will allow players to go beyond the previous level cap and increase their characters’ level up to level 61. The DLC was announced some time ago but a release date had yet to be revealed before yesterday.
The DLC will cost 4.99$/ 400 Microsoft Points and some gamers didn’t like the pack’s price. Randy Pitchford, Gearbox boss, has stated today on Twitter that the price isn’t arbitrary: this new DLC is a result of thousands of hours of work where the team had to make sure everything was balanced fine and required the team to play through the game more than once. “If it is not worth it to you, it is elective” Pitchford stated.
One good news regarding this new DLC is that all players owning the Season Pass will be able to download the pack for free. This is quite unexpected since this pack was not part of the Season Pass description and it was rumored that everyone had to pay the price if they wanted to get the game’s level cap removed.
Borderlands 2 is currently available on Ps3, Xbox 360 and Pc. The Ultimate Vault Hunter Pack will release on April 2.
