Muramasa Rebirth will finally get released this week in Japan: the game is an enhanced port of Muramasa: The Demon Blade released a few years ago on Nintendo Wii. The 2D sidescrolling action/role-playing game will get a few tweaks like improved controls and all new content, which will be made available after the game’s release as DLC content: four new characters will be introduced, each one with different skills. A new difficulty mode will also be included in the game.
Marvelous AQL, the game’s developer, wanted to offer players the purest Muramasa experience with this port: the storylines of Kisuke and Momohime will be identical to the original version of the game. All the new content like extra skills, weapons, enemies and bosses will only be available in the new characters’ stories.
The game will be released later this year in North America as well with Aksys handling the localization. Aksys has already announced that the localization will be completing redone, discarding the one made by Ignition when the original game was launched on Wii in North America.
