Double Fine has just unveiled their next game, titled Broken Age. The game was originally teased as Double Fine Adventure, but during a panel at PAX East, they officially announced it. The official website for the game has gone live, and it offers just a little bit of information on the game.
“Broken Age is a point-and-click adventure telling the stories of a young boy and girl leading parallel lives,” the website explains. “The girl has been chosen by her village to be sacrificed to a terrible monster–but she decides to fight back. Meanwhile, a boy on a spaceship is living a solitary life under the care of a motherly computer, but he wants to break free to lead adventures and do well in the world. Adventures ensue.”
I’m always excited for new games, especially games from Double Fine. After Ron Gilbert left the company a couple of weeks ago, I didn’t think they were going to announce a new game so quickly, but it seems like they had the game in the works for quite a while now. Pre-orders are now available on the site, and if you back the game, you will be gifted will a lot separate downloads, including a soundtrack, beta access, and a DRM-free version of the game.
