Firaxis Games has just announced that XCOM: Enemy Unknown will be coming to iOS devices this summer. The developers announced the port during a panel at PAX East, and fans quickly became excited for it. XCOM: Enemy Unknown Lead Designer Jake Solomon told Joystiq that the game was a straight port of the console versions and that they have not made any new gameplay features, excluding touch screen controls of course.
“You play the exact same game [as on PC or consoles], it’s just now fully playable on an iPhone or an iPad.” he said. XCOM: Enemy Unknown was one of the more underrated games we got last year, but it was also one of the best as well. Solomon didn’t reveal any details on the game’s pricing, but he did state that it would be priced based on the game’s value, so you’ll get what you pay for.
He also mentioned it’ll come in with a premium price tag, it’ll probably be similar to the Walking Dead’s price on the iOS, $15 bucks. The Elite Soldier DLC will be included in the iOS game at launch, but the Slingshot pack won’t be. There’s no word on if the Second Wave update would be coming with it, but they haven’t ruled it out.
