When it comes to the sport of football — soccer to us yanks — among fans there is no doubt that while FIFA is the best-seller but that Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) is the game that has a bit more depth and plays more like a simulation. Fans have been waiting with baited breath for some news about the upcoming Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 and it looks like we finally have some more concrete details on the game. We won’t lie, it sounds pretty great. Konami’s football series will be completely overhauled for the next generation of consoles, noting some problems with the PS2 to PS3 transition.
If that doesn’t excite you enough, for Kojima and Metal Gear fans out there, Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 will be built using Konami’s new FOX Engine. Yes, that FOX Engine. Look for not only new physics and graphics, but a new control scheme as well that removes the focus from the ball and onto the center of gravity of the player. Still no word on a release date, but hopefully soon.
