Tales Of Xillia Won't Receive Dual Language Option

With the success of Ni No Kuni: Wrath Of The White Witch, Namco Bandai has proven that Japanese role playing games have a strong following in Europe and that a well developed title can be successful on the market if promoted the right way.

Tales Of Xillia will be coming to Europe and North America during this year and Namco Bandai hopes to make the game as successful as Ni No Kuni: the game was originally released on September 2011 and it was released to celebrate the series 15th Anniversary.

While localization work still seems to be underway, we have received some interesting info straight from Namco Bandai: on the Official Namco Bandai French Site the publisher answers some fans’ questions regarding the game. One fans asked about a possible dual audio option for the game and Namco Bandai confirmed that the game will only include the English dub.

The publisher apologizes to gamers since they said there was a chance that the Japanese voice overs could be included: Namco Bandai was forced to make this decision in order to devote all resources to critical issues directly released to the European release of the game, most likely referring to the multiple languages localization.

Tales Of Xillia still doesn’t have a set release date: some rumors state that the game will be released this Spring or early Summer.

this won’t bother me any because i plan on playing it in english anyways, and for those who prefer japanese voices all i have to say is this, import the game if it is that important to you, since it matters so much i guess you understand japanese well enough to think that it is better, for me though i don’t know it well enough and i am too busy reading the subtitles to really give the quality voice acting any thought.

  There is a huge gap between being pro-efficient with Japanese and someone who doesn’t know Japanese.
  Ever considered for the people who could understand it, but their skill is not at a native level? In addition, you also have the people who are illiterate in Japanese (These are normally people who descended from Japanese families. while living in another country).

    the thing is that i am tired of the complaints on english voice acting if they aren’t gonna listen to them anyways (i.e. when they watch anime) and for games that they can easily import to be in japanese like they want. a lot of times the complaint is how the english voice acting doesn’t have any “emotions” (and i do admit sometime this is the case, guin saga is a great example of a terrible dub) for these people i recommend that they actually learn the language and import the game, instead of complaining.

The tales serie have the best english voices you can find, seriously. Even if there was a dual audio , btw I know japanese, I would still play it in english.

Very said to hear that, Ni No Kuni had the option so I hoped ToX will also have it. I am not buying this game anymore.
