Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag will be the true first open world Assassin’s Creed game ever released: by removing the separate maps, Ubisoft want to give players total freedom in where they go and what they do right from the beginning of the game.

With the title getting released on next gen console we can expect some exclusive features only available on the Ps4 and Xbox 720 versions of the game: this morning Ubisoft has confirmed that the next gen versions of the game will require an active internet connection to play the single player portion of the game. Ubisoft calls this feature the Single Connected Player mode: the publisher stated that the Ps4 features has made them creating this mode which will make the best use out of the social integration features of the new Sony console.

Actually Ubisoft hasn’t specified if the connection is required or if it’s just going to improve the single player experience: the Ps3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game won’t have such features while the Wii U version may have some special features tied to the Miiverse.

Assassin’s Creed IV is getting released on October 29 on current and next gen consoles as well as Pc.
