Some characters in recent years have become loved for reasons other than their design or characterizations: sometimes voice acting plays a big part in all this. Solid Snake has become one of the most loved video game characters ever also thanks to great acting work made by David Hayter, who’s been voicing the character ever since Metal Gear Solid, released on 1998 on the first Playstation console.

Over the years David Hayter has proven to be one of the voice actors ever, portraing the changes Solid Snake had to face in his life, especially in the fourth title of the series where he has become an old man due to his “special condition”.

David Hayter has also voiced another characters of the series, Big Boss: this character is coming back in the next installment of the series, Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes but there’s a chance David Hayter may not be voicing the character again: in a recent Twitter post David Hayter has asked fans how would they feel if someone else was going to voice Snake in the next MGS title. Most of the fans would be very angry and sad, with only a few saying that they wouldn’t care.

Could this be a way to see if fans would be alright with another person voicing Snake or is it some promotion stunt to increase hype for Ground Zeroes? I personally hope for the latter!
