Since the rumors about the PS4 have started months ago there has been a fear about how backwards compatible the console will be and if anything will carry over. There has already been talk about games from PS3 not carrying over to the PS4, as well as possibly the downloadable games not carrying over and fears have moved towards saved game files for game series that continue and would usually import saves. We’ve seen such things from games like the Mass Effect series, where importing your saves to the next game makes for a better experience.
Kevin Boyle of TellTale Games recently spoke to IGN about Season 2 of The Walking Dead and the topic of saves came up, where he mentioned being able to pick up where you left off in Season 1 and working closely with Sony to make this happen. This might not be direct confirmation of being able to transfer saves, but it does seem like hopeful news for fans looking to pick up the PS4.
