Jerry Bruckheimer is a name that movie and television fans will know all too well, as Bruckheimer has produced an astonishing 88 projects in the span of his career so far, everything from made-for-television movies to reality television, police procedurals and of course the major Hollywood blockbusters. So there was some fanfare involved a few years ago when Jerry Bruckheimer founded Jerry Bruckheimer Games, looking to jump into the world of producing videogames, which he was betting on it becoming the next big medium for entertainment. According to Gamespot, Jerry Bruckheimer Games is “no more.”
The idea wasn’t for Jerry Bruckheimer Games to be a development studio or publisher, but instead an “incubation studio” or “idea house.” Yes, Jerry Bruckheimer wanted to run a game studio that didn’t make anything, but instead came up with game ideas and then sold them to other publishers and developers. Much to no one’s surprise, this idea amounted to nothing.
