On the latest episode of Sup Holmes?, Destructoid writer Jonathan Holmes’ fantastic developer talk show, WayForward Game Designer/Director Austin Ivansmith was the lastest guest and he made a very interesting, exclusive announcement.
Portable puzzle platformer fans rejoice, Mighty Switch Force 2 will be coming to the 3DS eShop! Being a direct sequel makes this a first in the Mighty series, which has always consisted of different characters and genres.
Protagonist Patricia Wagon will return, though Ivansmith states that this time around she is undergoing a ”surprise career change”, hinting that she may not be a police officer any more. Jake “Virt” Kaufman will also once again in charge of the soundtrack.
A release date wasn’t provided, but the game is planned to release in Q1 or Q2 this year. In honour of the occasion, WayForward also put Mighty Switch Force HD on a 50% sale on the Wii U eShop. If you’re a Wii U owner who is yet to experience the game, this is an ideal opportunity.
