Today is definitely Nippon Ichi day: together with the announcement of The Guided Fate: Paradox, the Japanese publisher has confirmed the release of Disgaea D2 for North America and Europe. The game is the direct sequel of the first Disgaea, continuing the plot from where it ended. Laharl is now the new Overlord and he’ll have to face yet another crisis to keep his throne in his hands: expect to see other fan favorite characters come back like Etna and her prinnies, the angel Flonne and many others.

New gameplay features will be introduced into the game: characters customization has been completely revamped, giving players more option. The Master and Pupil system has been introduced, allowing the pupils to learn some skills of the master and giving the master himself a nice ability and stats boost.

The Item World will be back as well with its brutal randomly generated dungeons as well as Geo Panels which will grant various bonuses and penalties to player and opponents alike.

Together with the game’s announcement, Nippon Ichi has confirmed that he game will be receiving post release downloadable content just like the other Ps3 entries of the series. Disgaea D2: A Brighter Darkness will be released exclusively on Ps3 this Fall in both North America and Europe.
