Nintendo unveiled a 3DS sequel to Japanese DS game Tomodachi Collection during today’s Nintendo Direct broadcast, focussing on playable Miis.
The original game released in 2009, and is similar to an Animal Crossing or The Sims game. You partake in simple, relaxing activities and interact with other Miis.
Thanks to a translation from Nintendo Life, we can confirm that the game Tomodachi Collection 3DS will arrive in Japan on 18th April. A release outside of Japan is uncertain at this point, as the original game never saw an international release.
With Miis being a worldwide recognisable icon at this point though, I wouldn’t be too surprised to see this hit US and European shores in some form. It looks like it could be a casual title that would be welcomed to 3DS audiences globally.
Stay tuned for more updates from the Nintendo Direct broadcast.
