The next gen has finally begun with the reveal of the Playstation 4 and developers are ready to support next gen consoles with their own games: together with the first party games shown yesterday, some third party developers have used the conference to show what they have in the pipe for the new consoles.
Capcom, as always, is leading developers with some technological improvements which will contribute in showing the real capabilities of the next gen hardware: the Panta Rhei next generation engine has been officially presented yesterday, an evolution of the MT Framework engine which has been used by the company for all current gen projects.
As of now the engine is still getting polished but it’s good enough to be shown to the world: Capcom revealed the first game develped with the engine, codenamed Deep Down, at the conference with an all new trailer.
The trailer looks quite good and the included footage has led gamers to speculate about the true identity of the game: everything considered, Capcom may have been teasing a new Dragon’s Dogma game since this new project looks like it has all the elements for a sequel to last year’s action role playing game.
