It looks like all of the recent pictures regarding Sony’s next controller for the next gen system were real, and the final design isn’t too far from the prototype. The overall design of the famous dualshock controller hasn’t changed dramatically, but there are a number of new features and connections that have been added to the controller. Six-axis functionality will make a return in the DS4, as well as the normal face and directional buttons. The rumored touch pad is indeed a real feature, and it will be plastered on to the front of the controller.
The pad is multitouch compatible, allowing for multiple registered points at the same time. The touchpad can also be clicked down and serve as a button. The Start, Select, and PS Button has been combined into the new “Options” button. A new “Share” button has been added, which will gain you access to the PS4’s bevy of social options. Including livestreaming through services like UStream, and the sharing through all of the various social networks. The new Eye Camera will directly communicate with the LED light bar on top of your controller. The eye features two camera’s with a maximum resolution of 1200 x 800 each, with four channel array of microphones. Just like the system itself, Sony is really pouring in all they can into the PS4 accessories. s
