The Armored Core series has gone a long way since its humble beginnings on the first Playstation Console, with games getting released on all console generations since then. The series has been quite successful thanks to its gameplay formula, starring fully customizable mechs in a third person shooter formula. The games also have decent plots, often putting players in the role of some silent mercenary and watch conspiration and wars unfold right before your eyes.

One of the most important elements of the game is the possibility to customize any part of your mech: other than improving the Armored Core performance in battle, players can also color each part differently, as well as creating their own emblem which will represent them during battle and online play.

A new Armored Core game has been officially announced on the pages of Famitsu: called Armored Core: Verdict Day, the game will be launching on September 26 in Japan on Xbox 360 and Ps3. Some details have also emerged from the magazine: players will be able to import Armored Core 5 data in the new game and the game will feature a new, enhanced, online system which will bring improved matchmaking and new game modes, allowing for better team versus team matches. A limited edition for the game will also be available, feauring the game’s soundtrack and a limited Armored Core figurine.

No news are currently available for a Western release.
