The wait for Team ICO’s upcoming title, The Last Guardian, has been one that is trying for even the most patient of gamers. Since some proof-of-concept video leaked out in 2009, fans of Team ICO’s games have been waiting with baited breath for the next title from the storied team and fearless leader Fumito Ueda only for there to be less and less by the way of details and still no solid release date for it yet. It was originally slated to be released on the PlayStation 3, Sony’s current generation console, but according to a new report from a former Sony employee, the game has been in development for the PlayStation 4 for quite a while now.

A former Sony staffer, Ken Linder, posted on the NeoGAF forum about the title, stating that it has been uncertain for the last two years which platform it would be released on, but that the Last Guardian has been restarted numerous times. The latest restart saw it being built for the PlayStation 4/PS4/Orbis and it seems like that will be the final home for it.
