Just a few days ago a new Pokemon game was announced for Wii U: Pokemon Rumble U is the sequel to the action role playing game Pokemon Rumble, released back in 2009 as a digital only title on the Wiiware platform.
The game features a more action focused spin on the Pokemon series: players can control a lot of Pokemon during the game in a top down view, proceeding through arenas, defeating enemy Pokemons and get them to join you once they are truly defeated. With the huge amount of Pokemon available and a multiplayer feature, the game delivered many hours of solid fun.
Pokemon Rumble U will build up on the gameplay formula introduce by the first title: this time there will be all the Pokemons from generation 1 to 5 and up to four players will be able to play together at the same time. The developers want to bring each of the game’s elements to the maximum: over 100 Pokemons can be present during a single fight. Expect some hectic moments when that many Pokemons on screen unleash all their strongest special attacks.
A batch of new screens have been released today and you can take a look at them below. The game, like its predecessor will be a downloadable title which will hit Wii U sometime during this year, at least in Japan. No precise news are available for North American and European versions but since we’re talking about Pokemon, expect the game to come not too long after the Japanese release.
