While no Capcom game was available together with the Wii U, the Japanese publisher is supporting the console with two upcoming titles, big names like Monster Hunter 3 and Resident Evil: Revelations. At the same time, aside from these two titles, not much is in the pipe and this has left gamers wondering what’s up, especially since many nice digital only titles like Capcom Arcade Cabinet and Darkstalkers Resurrection are coming on the other consoles.
Christian Svensson stepped up to address gamers’ concerns regarding Capcom’s future support for the Wii U: he states that when the Arcade Cabinet App and Darkstalkers: Resurrection projects were started, the japanese company still didn’t know much on how Nintendo was going to handle digital distribution on its new console. He also adds that “multiplatform” doesn’t mean all platforms but he still leaves the door open for the future, hinting that Capcom’s upcoming digital titles may be hitting the Wii U eShop in the near future.
The Capcom Arcade Cabinet app will bring some of the best 80s arcade games produced by the company on Ps3 and Xbox 360. Darkstalkers Resurrection will bring the Darkstalkers trilogy on current gen consoles with a lot of game and graphical options which will make fans of the series happy.
