If you ever had the pleasure to own a Commodore Amiga 500, you probably know about Team 17 and a lot of its successful titles: most of them were released in the glory days of the Amiga and were quite successful among the fanbase. One of the best games by Team 17, Alien Breed, has just been released on Psn for Ps3 and PsVita and it looks like it managed to capture the true essence of the Alien Breed series: today Team 17 has announced that another one of its 16 bit titles will be released in full HD glory on Ps3 and PsVita.
Superfrog is a classic 2D platform game featuring everything you might expect from the genre: colorful levels, plenty of enemies to defeat and items to collect, a simple but serviceable story. The game is mostly remembered for its incredibly big stages and the great 2D graphics which looked a real animated movie.
Superfrog HD will get released later this year with an all new HD graphics and all the old stages included in the original game. We still don’t know if they’re going to go with a 3D remake or keep the original style of the game: to be honest, I’m hoping for the latter. We can probably expect Trophies support and some other new additions yet to be revealed.
