Pokemon is now debuting on Wii U with Pokemon Rumble U (or Pokemon Scramble U as it is known in Japan), according to the latest edition of CoroCoro magazine.
The game is a sequel to the 2009 WiiWare game, Pokemon Rumble. As with the prior game, the game is downloadable only (via the eShop) and up to four players working together to clobber the enemy beastlings – up to 100 Pokemon at a time, according to Serebii!
The magazine reveals a Spring 2013 release in Japan, with no details on the release in other territories. Most Pokemon games take a long time to localise, though we did see Rumble and Rumble 3DS come out shortly after their Japanese counterparts.
The Pokemon Rumble series sees a more direct, brawler combat system than the turn-based strategy seen in the traditional games. You take control of hundreds of toy Pokemon, fighting through various enemies and unlocking new and more powerful monsters.
