When Bayonetta 2 was first announced as a Wii U exclusive, a lot of people were upset. Seeing how the game became popular on the Xbox 360 and PS3, and to not have the sequel on those platforms, seems like a slap in the face to their fans. Platinum Games designer, Hideki Kamiya, took to Twitter to announce his frustrations with the frequent multi-platform questions. He released the following statement, “We are a developer. Nintendo are the ones kind enough to fund and publish our The Wonderful 101 and Bayonetta 2 projects. So if Nintendo says, ‘We are publishing Bayonetta 2 on PS3/360,’ then it will happen. So please go ask them, not us.”
He’s obviously frustrated with all the questions, but you can’t really blame him. Bayonetta was one of the most popular action games in 2010, it even competed well against God of War 3. We already know that Rayman Legends will no longer be a Wii U exclusive, and that it will be pushed back to September. Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge is also coming to the Xbox 360 and PS3. It hasn’t been a great week for Wii U owners, seeing how some of their most anticipated exclusives won’t be exclusive after all.
