The little Sackboys, icons of the Little Big Planet series, might be making a comeback soon in a new main entry of the series, after the PsVita Little Big Planet and a couple of spinoffs. The game has been in the works for over a years and it looks like Sony has given the game to Sumo Digital for development.
VG 247 states that they were contacted in relation to a Little Big Pòanet petition for more moderation in the current games: as of now the online modes of the games have become a no mand’s land, with very little amount of content control. This could be related to the fact the Media Molecule has moved on to Teraway, while the series development has already been handed to Sumo Digital.
This rumor is pretty much safe: Sumo Digital has already worked on something LBA related: the cross controller patch for LBA was developed by the Uk studio.
Another source confirms the fact that Sumo Digital is developing Little Big Planet 3 even though the format is unknown, as well as a possible release date. If the release won’t be too far off, we can expect a Ps3-PsVita version with cross play features, like many of the most recent Sony first party titles.
