Despite being criticized for sporting the same gameplay formula with only a few variations, the Dynasty Warriors series is still going strong, with a new title getting released at the end of this month. Dynasty Warriors 7: Empires is going to be an expansion of Dynasty Warriors 7, including a more tactical battle system and a storyline focused on political intrigue. Among the new additions are a new character called Xu Shu and some gameplay tweaks. The character edit mode is also getting an overhaul, together with some new features.

Players will be able to customize pretty much anything about their characters, from their appearance to their fighting style, clothes and weapon of choice. To allow further customization, Tecmo Koei is going to release some extra costumes as extra DLC: players who preorder the game will be getting some exclusive preorder costumes allowing gamers to recreate some characters from previous Dynasty Warriors games and from Samurai Warriors, one of the many spin offs of the series, set in the Japanese Sengoku era. If a more tactical version of the Dynasty Warriors gameplay formula is your thing, this game won’t be letting you down.

Dynasty Warriors 7: Empires will be released at the end of February exclusively on Ps3.
