The new Sim City game is almost upon us and some players were able to participate in the closed beta last week, enjoying a few hours of the game’s contents. The game is getting geared towards release and more information is coming in regarding the game’s many new options.
In the latest post on the game’s official blog, gameplay scripter Guillaume Pierre explains that the new sandbox mode included in the game will grant more freedom than ever to players. Regarding to the available in-game options, Mister Pierre said that players may be able to activate or deactivate any gameplay aspect that they could find bothersome: the dreaded cataclysms can be deactivate with a simple combination of buttons, as well as some other troublesome things, making the game somewhat easier to master.
It should be noted that by deactivating some gameplay options, players may be prevented from earning achievements, turning the game almost into a training mode. It’s a good thing that everything is optional and the more the freedom, the better it is.
Sandbox mode will also allow players to play cooperatively, extending the concept of making every city in the new Sim City more similar to a real city, with its own web of relationships.
