This news could be a first for both the Metal Gear series and Platinum Games, developers of the highly anticipated Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance: the latest entry of the franchise, an action game with stealth elements starring the new cyborg Ninja Raiden will be getting some extra DLC content which will be released sometime after the game officially launches, as reported by the Japanese magazine Dengeki.

And this content is apparently going to be quite rich: Revengeance will be getting some extra VR Missions, a trademark of the series, as well as some new story related content. The magazine is not too clear on this since it states that the story DLC will be about other characters of the series as well as about new characters introduced in Revengeance: will we be able to control characters other than Raiden? If this gets confirmed, the game will be even bigger than we expected, featuring a lot of different content. Both Konami and Platinum Games still haven’t talked about the DLCs but we can expect some news in the next few days.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will be available worldwide from February 22 on Ps3 and Xbox 360, with a possible but yet unconfirmed Pc version coming at a later date.
