Medal of Honor Series Going on Hiatus After Poor Warfighter Scores

It was only a matter of time before EA stepped in and made a decision regarding the struggling Medal of Honor series, and it looks like EA is pulling the series down for a while, as the team hopes to come up with new ideas for the franchise. EA stated that the franchise will be “going out of rotation.” It looks like EA paid attention to what the thousands of game critics and players were saying about the game, none of it being positive obviously. Peter Moore, EA COO, stated the following, “the game was solid, but the focus on combat authenticity did not resonate with consumers. Critics were polarized and gave the game scores which were, frankly, lower than it deserved. This one is behind us now. We are taking Medal of Honor out of the rotation and have a plan to bring year-over-year continuity to our shooter offerings.”

EA is taking the resonsibility of really mishandling the reboot of one of most popular first person shooters of it’s time. The only good news that could come from this, is that the series is not done forever, you just won’t be seeing any new MOH games anytime soon.

I enjoyed the game for a bit, single player had highlights and some interesting additions such as the A+ quality driving sequences! The MP initially felt weak then combat mission began to grow on me but I stopped after2 weeks and went back to CS GO and BF3 being a pro gamer no tournament life for MoHWF- MoH 2010′s MP was much better thanks to DICE- i ended up endorsing blops 2 as my competition choice along with dota 2, cs go and bf3- until BF4 comes out. In my opinion if Danger Close made a world war 2 shooter it may have been a hit as people tire of modern shooters WW2 is the pinnacle of the series with the masterpiece I used to play that ran on the quake 3 engine; – as we know that team left and formed Infinity Ward- with the main IW figures with EA I expect them (respawn ent) to take over the year rotation giving DICE 2 year dev cycles to deliver the most innovative and interesting games they can create. – Wind
