Capcom has just announced new downloadable content for Resident Evil 6 that will implement Japanese voice acting in the game, according to Japanese gaming publication Famitsu.
There are no details on whether or not the DLC will be priced, or whether it will release outside of Japan. It is also unknown when to expect this to release, or what actors and actresses will be taking the roles.
This will be a first in the franchise, as English voices have been the standard in the past games in all territories. After all, what monster would want to change such classic lines as “you were almost a Jill sandwich!”
Of all the things that fans criticised in the game, I’m pretty sure Japanese voices couldn’t have been the biggest priority in the feedback for the developer to resolve. Well, I can’t say they’re not at least trying. Oh, Capcom.
