Sometimes you have to really work hard to earn your nerd cred and a love of board games is a very simple way to do that, even if you aren’t talking about pen and paper roleplaying games, which are a whole different level of nerd. I’m talking about games like Risk and Stratego, games that aren’t like the standards of Chess and Checkers, but a different kind of strategic board game emulating warfare, this time pretty blatantly. So if you are a fan of Stratego but are sick of setting up a board full of those little castle pieces and crave a digital version, you are in lucky, my friend.
Stratego is sort of a board game version of capture the flag that involves 40 pieces and Dutch developer Keesing Games has released a shiny new version of it as a free-to-play game on Facebook and the Web, or a pay version on the iPad. If interested, head over to stratego.com and check it out.
