Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus is definitely shaping up to be the ultimate version of Ninja Gaiden 2: Team Ninja has unveiled today a lot of new details on the game which will feature quite a lot of extra content.
One of the new modes is called Ninja Race: in this mode players will have to complete each stage as quickly as possible or kill as many enemies as they can to rack up points. Players will be able to choose among a few characters and different costumes. Exclusive to this mode are the Combo Kill counter, which will increase attack power the more it raises and three special essences which will grant some kind of special powers: the green essence will add time to the clock, the white essence will boost the Combo Kill counter and the white essence will improve the characters’ speed.
Another new addition is Tag Missions mode, where players will have to complete a stage or a set of challenges using a pair of characters: one of these characters will be AI controlled and players will be able to switch at will during play. Among the other additions are new enemies, weapons upgrades and extra costumes, some of which will be offered as exclusive pre order bonuses.
Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus will be released on February 26 in North America and on March 1 in Europe exclusively on PsVita.
