In a recent interview it was revealed that the PC version of Dead Space 3 would not be optimized for PC users; meaning that the game would not have high end graphical capabilities. Well today Dead Space 3 executive producer Steve Papoutsis came out and tried to refute these remarks by saying that the PC port of the game is by no means bad.
Papoutsis clarified the initial remarks as being misconstrued, saying that the PC port is essentially the same as the console versions of Dead Space 3. He went on to say that Visceral Games did not target the PC version of the game to be significantly different; that they want all versions of the game to be basically the same.
He did say that PC owners who have a powerful rig will see a difference but Visceral Games did not develop Dead Space 3 specifically for the PC like “DICE did for Battlefield 3″. Papoutsis finished by saying that even though the PC is very different from developing for consoles, the goal at Visceral Games was to create equality across the platforms.
Dead Space 3 has had a lot of bad press lately and that is not usually a good thing when you are weeks away from the launch. In all honesty I am hoping for the best for Dead Space 3, but I would not be shocked if the game flops because of all the issues: microtransactions, the developers coming out and saying the game needs to be more “action oriented”, and putting co-op in a survival horror game.
I want to hear from some Dead Space fans, are you worried about the game? Are you even going to buy Dead Space 3?
