Despite being such a high profile title, Grand Theft Auto 5 is not getting much of its features detailed lately: the game was announced last November and other than a few interviews and a new trailer, not much is known about the game. One thing we knew for certain was the release window for the game, being set for Spring 2013. An amazon listing sometime ago actually set a 26 March release date, which didn’t seem to impossible, given how Grand Theft Auto 4 was released during the beginning of April.
It looks like that release date was indeed correct, if we’re to believe some reports stating that Microsoft has leaked the release date to all players who have preordered the game: according to these reports, the game should be launchin or shipping on March 24. If the date was still unconfirmed, the date would be listed with a TBA so there’s a high chance it could be true. This news somewhat contradicts another report which states that the game will be launched in Australia a month later, on April 26: this could be a simple delay for that single release but, without Rockstar’s official words, there’s nothing certain.
Later next week, Rockstar should be revealing the final artwork for the game and reveal the final release date. Stay tuned for more details.
