Kingdom Hearts 1.5 reMix is the first ever HD remaster developed by Square Enix: the collection will include the first Kingdom Hearts, Kingdom Hearts Chains Of Memories and all the cutscenes, remastered in high definition, of one of the DS entries of the series, Kingdom Hearts 352/2 days. The collection will hit Japan soon but there has been no word of a western release, up until today: a picture has been circling around, shared on Instagram by Jesse McCartney, who voices Roxas in the series: he’s in a recording booth with a TV showing one of the cutscenes of Kingdom Hearts 352/2 Days.
The actor doesn’t specify what he’s recording, simply stating the he’s recording the “next chapter” in the series: it’s highly unlikely that he’s talking about a new game since nothing has been announced since the release of Dream Drop Distance, the 3DS entry of the series.
Kingdom Hearts 1.5 reMix isn’t going to be a simple port: the first Kingdom Hearts game will be tweaked slightly to make it play like the most recent entries of the series. The included version is going to be the Final Mix version, with extra bosses, enemies, weapons and skills. The camera will be fixed and Reaction Commands will be included as well.
It looks like it’s gonna be a good collection and if it does well on the market, Square Enix has hinted they may be able to released another one including Kingdom Hearts 2 and all its spin offs, including the excellent Birth By Sleep.
