In the announcement frenzy of the latest Nintendo Direct, where so many new titles have been announced for Wii U, some screens for the latest entry of the Smash Bros series have been shown, confirming that the game unveiling will happen later this year at the E3. The game is also being developed for the 3DS but no footage has been shown, making players fear that it has been cancelled or that it could be really behind in development.
Players can rest easy: the game’s producer Sakurai has posted on his official twitter account some news regarding the matter, stating that he would like to bring both builds of the game to the E3. He also added that there’s a reason as to why not much of the game has been currently shown: the team is working in making the best game possible.
It’s not the first time that Sakurai talks about the lack of footage for the project: if it was for him, he would have preferred to let players wait even more so that they could be making an even better game. The fact that he has said so much this time it means that a certain quality level has already been reached, making it possible for the developers to show the game’s first footage.
