Nintendo have now revealed the details on the reported multiplayer and online functionality within Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon.
Hunter Mode sees up to four players, each eerily playing as different coloured Luigis, joining forces to survive in the ScareScraper, an area crawling with ghosts. The multiplayer mode appears to be a wave-based survival game, with players clearing each floor one at a time. Each floor must be cleared before the time runs out.
Bonuses and upgrades can also be earned depending on the team’s performance, and you will face boss battles at the top of each tower. Players can choose the number of floors in this mode ranging from five, 10 or 25. Various levels of difficulty are also on offer. When a player’s health fully depletes, fallen Luigis can be revived by a teammate.
Hunter mode can be enjoyed in both local and online multiplayer, and includes Download Play support.
Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon will release as a 3DS exclusive on March 24 in the US, and on March 2013 in Europe under the title Luigi’s Mansion 2.
