Resident Evil: Revelations was released last year on Nintendo 3DS, showcasing how the new Nintendo Handheld features can be used to creaty a compelling and scary survival horror game: after the not so horror like setting of Resident Evil 5, the game looked like it was a true return to form for the series. However some players complained that the game suffered in being on a handheld and an HD Consoles version would have been much better.

It has been rumored for some time and yesterday Capcom finally confirmed that the game would be coming on Ps3 and Xbox 360 with an updated port, but details were scarce. Thanks to the new issue of Famitsu we have come to know some more details.

The game won’t be a simple port as everything in the game will be updated: levels are completing different, both graphics and gameplay wise, increasing the horror atmosphere of the game. Enemy encounters happen in completely different places and situations so we can expect to be surprised with every step we take. Ironically the game will be called in Japan “Unveiled Edition” because, according to producer Tsukasa Takenaka the game will be an unveiling for every step we take.

As for the other additions, a new character will be added and Capcom is looking to implement the Streetpass features in the HD Port, probably using the online capabilities of the two consoles.
