The one major complaint people had with Dragon Age: Origins was the graphics were not up to par with the rest of the game. However, BioWare’s Neil Thompson says Dragon Age III: Inquisition will not have this problem. According to Thompson Dragon Age III looks “stunningly beautiful” thanks to the game being developed on the Frostbite 2 engine.
Thompson went on to say that Dragon Age artists were actually disappointed with how their final work came out with the first two Dragon Age games. The Frostbite engine has allowed BioWare to do a lot more visually than the previous Eclipse engine according to Thompson. In fact, Thompson also stated that BioWare is trying to make a beautiful fantasy game and has moved away from the “subdued colour palette and harsh brown feel”.
With all that being said, we still know very little about Dragon Age III: Inquisition. The game is supposedly coming out this year but that could easily change and right now we don’t even know what console systems the game is being developed for. My guess is that EA and BioWare will unveil the game during their E3 press conference.
