If you have lived actively the 16 bit generation and you played on personal computers as well as console you’ll surely remember a great platform game called Flashback: the game, developed by Delphine Software and published by the now defunct U.S. Gold, was an unique platform adventure with a formula not too different from Prince Of Persia. The game had a sci-fi setting, alien lifeforms and even social aspects: for its time, the game was really ahead a lot of similar products.

If reading all this has brought you into nostalgia mode, you’ll be really happy to know that an HD remake of the game could be coming in the near future: a french gaming site called Gameblog has received an image showing Conrad in high definition graphics in a location which should be the first stage of the game. We don’t know if it’s just fan art, a sequel or a remake: the only thing we know for certain is that Vector Cell, the new studio headed by Flashback’s creator Paul Cuisset, has been awarded 300.000 euros from France’s CNC, for a project called Flashback Origins.

Without any confirmation, we will have to consider all this as a rumor for now.
