It took some time, but Sony has finally given us the option to add funds to your virtual wallet, via Paypal. This wasn’t a surprise, seeing how European PSN users have gotten to use Paypal for quite a while now. Sony introduced the service to our neighbors across the pond back in October. I know a lot of North American users are excited, most people don’t like inputting their credit card numbers into the system. Especially after the infamous PSN hack that took service out for a whole month, consumers are a lot more paranoid. Paypal is a pretty popular service, and I’m surprised that the service took so long to get integrated.
There have been a few bug reports though, some users are claiming that they can’t add funds, and that the service is giving them different error prompts. I have yet to input my information, and I’ll definitely update you on if the reports are accurate. This could have been connected with the recent PSN maintenance. The service was down longer than expected, but it’s back up and running now. In the end, Paypal is now an acceptable source of payment, and I’m people will be jumping all over it.
