With the recent news regarding the resolution of the NHL lockout, I’m sure NHL fans are already in a good mood. Xbox 360 owners will be getting the NHL GameCenter app today, of course it won’t be free, it’ll just be nice to have available. PS3 and mobile device owners have already gotten the app, and it’s good to see Xbox owners finally get it. Even thought the NHL season will be greatly shortened, the app will be great for catching all the latest action. The GameCenter app will allow subscribers to watch over 40 out-of-market games a week. Of course, if the game is in your region, you’ll be blacked out from the game.
The game will feature all of the Kinect functionality that the other Xbox apps feature, allowing you to control the app with hand gestures and voice control. The service will cost you $49.99, of course the price isn’t full, thanks to the shortened season. The service will also require a Xbox Live Gold Membership. The Xbox really has a number of great video apps and services, besides gaming, the system can really keep you entertained. The ESPN app still being my favorite, I know a lot of users will switch over to the NHL app.
