Another next generation rumor sprung up today, that focuses on something other than the power of the console. According to an unmanned source who talked with CVG, Sony is testing new controllers and may not use DualShock on the PS4. Apparently Sony is still experimenting with new controller designs and few if any of them use DualShock.
There are multiple new controllers that Sony is currently working on; ranging from an LCD touch screen to “biometric sensors” on the controllers grips. The source reported that Sony is trying to replicate “UI philosophies” that are used in the Vita. However, the source also indicated that there is a good chance that PS3 controllers will be compatible with Sony’s next generation console.
Now again this is all coming from inside sources and nothing has been officially confirmed. But according to that source we won’t have to wait long, as they think Sony will reveal the console in a matter of weeks not months. Although, this doesn’t make a lot of sense if Sony still hasn’t figured out what type of controller they are going to use for the new system.
Sony has not and probably will not comment on this newest rumor.
