New week, new information and rumors about the next gen. This time it’s about the next Sony console, codenamed Playstation Orbis: the new console could be unveiled even before the next E3, according to the words of Hiroshi Sakamoto, a Sony executive.
Talking about the next Sony console with a Chilean news site, Sakamoto san didn’t want to talk too much in detail about the new console, stating that the Orbis is still a big secret: he actually confirms that the company is hard at work on the console itself and it’s focused on making a big reveal in time for the next E3, scheduled for June. When asked if Sony was planning an announcement or something different, Sakamoto confirmed that it’s going to be an announcement.
The Sony executive also added that we will have to wait until May to get some more news about the console, without specifying anything. With most of the rumors stating that the next gen’s unveiling will happen at this year E3, this interview doesn’t really bring anything new: we can’t also consider this as an official confirmation since Hiroshi Sakamoto is actually working in another Sony division.
It’s probably the closest thing we may be getting to an official confirmation but still, nothing from the actual Sony Entertainment division.
