If the names Team 17, Commodore Amiga and Alien Breed mean something to you, you’ll be surely happy about this news: Alien Breed will be released during February on the Playstation Network Store with quite a number of features.
The Alien Breed series started back in 1991: it’s a sci-fi themed series with a top down view where one of two players have to clear environments of Aliens, reach the lift to the next level and destroy the previous floor. The game also features a power up system where players can use the collected credits to buy new weapons and improve old ones. The game is as simple as it is fun: the success of the first game spawned some sequels and spin-offs, with the latest game in the series getting released in 2010.
The new Alien Breed game will be available for purchase on PsVita and Playstation 3 early in February: players will be able to choose if they want to see modern age graphics or the Amiga era ones. The game will feature cross play between the two versions, an online and ad-hoc online mode, leader boards and trophies. Story mode will feature over 30 stages which can be tackled solo or together with another player.
Pricing and exact release date still haven’t been announced.
