Painkiller: Hell & Damnation is the remake and the sequel at the same time of the first person shooter Painkiller, originally released back in 2004. Gameplay wise, the game puts a great emphasis on action and shooting, with a lot of variety in both monsters and locations. The game is divided into several chapters and each chapter presents a specific theme. The game has a very over the top feeling, including some wacky weapons like the Soulcatcher and the stakethrower. The game also features an innovative 2 players co-op mode, where the difficulty will be changes accordingly to the players’ skills.
The game was released back in November on Pc and, while the ps3 and Xbox 360 versions have been announced, no precise release date was given. Today Nordic Games has finally given a release date for the game: Painkiller: Hell & Damnation will be released on Ps3 and Xbox 360 on April 5. The port was apparently delayed due to the some development issues, as explained by development manager Reinhard Police: the team wanted to port the game and make it play just like the Pc version, and the extra development time was used to reach this goal.
Painkiller: Hell & Damnation will be launching at 29.99$, with a collector’s edition priced at 39.99$.
