Another MMO is going the free to play route as it seems only a very few amount of MMO’s are capable of sustaining a subscription model anymore. Tera will be going free to play sometime this February, however the exact date for this move has yet to be announced. Like most free to play MMO’s Tera will have three forms of membership: Standard, Elite, and Founder.

Standard will be the free version of the game, while Elite will cost $14.99 and provide bonuses that are currently not in the game. Some of the bonuses include faster cool down times and “vanity items”. Founder will confer lifetime benefits to anyone who purchases the full game and redeems it.

Of course like most free to play MMO’s, Tera’s free to play mode will have certain limitations intended to entice people to pay for certain privileges. The good news is that there are no major content restrictions and you will be able to play as any race or class as well. However, you will be limited in the number of characters you can create as well as the number of bank slots you have.

If you would like a more in depth list of what will and won’t be included in the free to play version of Tera, you can go to their official site here.
