The Professor Layton series is probably one of the most famous Nintendo DS series, enjoying a truly worldwide success: the games’ structure is perfect for a portable experience, featuring puzzles and riddles to solve. Add it to simple yet enjoyable storylines and characters, the series had everything it needed to be a smashing success.
On the latest issue of Famitsu, now available on Japanese shelves, are some news about the series: the release date for the series latest entries and a re-issue of Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask.
Professor Layton: The Azran Legacy will be released in Japan on February 28. Set in the past, the game’s first print will be coming with some bonuses included like bronze figures and 18k gold coins. No news on a North American and European release date but given the series popularity, it will be coming for sure.
Another interesting news is the re-issue of another entry of the series, Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask: the game will be released on the 3DS eShop. This game won’t be a simple digital release of the retail version but will contain some extra content: new events, puzzles, animations and a new tutorial for Ruins mode. No news here as well for a West release date but chances are high this digital reissue will find its way to get released in the West.
