Fans of the Disney television hit ‘Phineas and Ferb’ are in for a treat as Disney has just agreed to a collaboration with Majesco Entertainment to create a brand new Phineas and Ferb game that will feature an original story and will be released across multiple platforms.
Jesse Sutton, Chief Executive Officer of Majesco Entertainment has expressed his opinion on the deal, stating that they’re ‘thrilled’ to be working with the animation giant and that they’re be creating a quality game that ‘leverages the characters and brand attributes of the highly successful series’.
Phineas and Ferb is among a new generation of cartoons that does an equally good job at appealing to viewers of various ages, as opposed to the stereotypical pre-school/grade school audience. Similar shows such as Spongebob Squarepants and many of Marvel’s current properties have been doing the same in recent years. The wider range of viewers has led to a much larger success than previous television series of the same genre and seems to be the direction a lot of companies are taking in the creation of new youth franchises.
The game’s title is currently under wraps but a planned release date of August 2013 has been given. As always, we’ll have more information as it becomes available.
