Shadow of the Colossus was one of those games that was able to move beyond the realm of just being a game and being an experience. There really isn’t a way to put into words the feeling when you encounter the first Colossus for the first time in that game and find yourself staring up at this huge monster with no clue how on earth you will be able to take it down. The game, by Team ICO, was short on story and big on atmosphere and forcing players to think critically to defeat each Colossus.

For one reason or another, the game has been slated to become a major motion picture and has been in the works since 2009. It has been stuck in the writing phase since then with Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li writer Justin Marks at the helm until recently. It was announced today that Seth Locheed, best known for his work as a co-writer for the 2011 film, Hanna, has come onboard to write the adaption of Shadow of the Colossus. Also joining him in the project will be Director Josh Tranks and Producer Kevin Misher.

Somehow I feel that it is in better hands now.
